this photo set deserves some explanation. the gloves were bartered at the Hawthorne Urban Farmers Market for the bounty shown: japanese cucumber, kale, green and purple eggplant, brandywine tomato and asian melon (the rosemary was a gift from another barterer). The photo doesn't really show how huge all of these veggies were, the tomato was easily 6 inches across! Thanks to Kat and Marie who are doing things right down on Hawthorne.
I am a huge fan of the barter system and this marks my second successful trade (the first being a crocheted hat/haircut) since moving here!
